Melbourne artist, Sianna Lee is currently in the process of recording her debut solo album, which will be released on Enchanted Recordings next year. Sianna is best known to some as the lead singer and principal songwriter from the band, Love Outside Andromeda. The band released two albums through Shock and were the darlings of the alternative radio airwaves, before breaking up in 2007 to pursue other projects.

Sianna played in support of theredsunband in 2008, bringing her new solo work to the attention of Enchanted Recordings.

Sarah Kelly - vocalist proponent of theredsunband - will lend support to the Postlobsterman “Concert and Art Exhibition”, 8pm Tuesday 17th March, at the Hopetoun Hotel, Surry Hills.

Lobsterman is a prolific artist of great depth - and more significantly, breadth - who makes people like Jack Ladder and Holly Throsby want to meet Ross Clelland, just so they can say they know someone who knows him.

Sarah Kelly doesn’t have that trouble since they watch footy together all the time. Not only will the music of Sarah and Lobster be visible on the night, but the inimitable brushwork of Lobster will also be audible.

theredsunband have been added to the bill of the 2009 Big Day Out festival in Sydney. They will perform on the Hot Produce Stage at 5.20pm. Other great local bands on the bill include The Jezabels, I Heart Hiroshima, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, The Drones & more.

Their 5.20pm timeslot gives fans ample time to watch the full set and then head over to the essential stage to watch The Drones at 6.45pm.

theredsunband & Youth Group are about to set off on a mammoth 18-date co-headlining tour, presented by Street Press Australia and FasterLouder.com.au. The month long tour kicks off on October 16th and winds its way through five states & territories over four weeks.

The history of the two bands has long been intertwined. theredsunband played their first gig with Lizzie Kelly on keyboards supporting Youth Group at the Hopetoun Hotel in 2002. Lizzie was 16 and travelling on a fake ID.

Youth Group singer, Toby Martin, first recalls hearing demos of theredsunband in a car with his bandmates and once gave early single “Sleep Forever” five stars in a magazine review.

The new albums by both bands employ the mixing talents of Tim Whitten, renowned for his work with distinctive-sounding indie bands such as Art Of Fighting, Augie March and 78 Saab .

Most recently, Toby and Sarah Kelly appeared together on SBS television’s “Rockwiz”, where they performed the hallowed indie-rock duet “Sometimes Always”.

The good will has continued with the two bands now heading out on tour together in a 12-seater bus, on equal billing, sharing beer and gear and peforming a special three-song encore.

The bands will headline one night each in Sydney and Melbourne and share all other dates equally.
